# Item/Description Cost Picture I would like more info
First few items have been adopted/started lately
41 Roof Structures for Chi Rho table area: This will be a great enhancement for all who attend Chi Rho camp. This will replace the tarps that normally hang over these areas. $700 for supplies for each one. $1000.00 has already been donated. Thank You!
45 Continued work on Huts: Adding exit decks onto the huts in village 2 will help make it just a little nicer for Chi Rho Campers this summer. Ankeny Christian Church added a deck onto one hut first week of May. Thank You!
42 Replace water heaters in Cabin 1 and remodel the bathroom: Once the water heaters go out they will no longer fit in the closet due to new codes. The new desgin will redesign the cabin bathroom layout and add 2- 50 gallon water heaters rather than the present 100 gallon. This project has been adopted by Marion Christian Church and will be be completed by camp season in June. Thank you!
43 Drop Ceiling in Cardinal Suite: This will be the next phase in remaking this once Craft room/tornado shelter room into an efficiency apartment. This project will be funded from individual gifts in 2007 and work will be done by First Christian, Newton IA. Thank You!
Electric Fireplace: We have just remodled our old craft room in to a new meeting room called "The Chalice Room." An electric fireplace would add warmth to the room and a focus for small group area.
This project was adopted Feb 20th...
Thank You

12 Dining room Furnace: This room is the most used room in the facility and this furnance has worked very hard over the years. However, it is 60% inefficient and is so loud when it comes on it makes it difficult for groups to meet in the dining room.. $4,700 This project was finished 3/3/08 using donations from 2007. 19 200 Chairs for Chalice room: Needed to host groups in this new room.

31 New Front Sign: This is the first thing that welcomes and directs people into the facility. The present sign has served us well but its time to replace it. Our front view is critical and needs to be replaced as soon as possible. This project will be done in honor and in memory of Adam Barnett who created our "Log-Directional" signs. The camp was one of the places he found some direction for his life!

Over $1000 has already come in for this project.

39 Waterfall Recirculation System for Pond:This project would include landscaping, rock and pump. This would both add beauty to the pond area but would also serve the practical purpose of preventing Mosquitoes from growing on the pond. This project was adopt in honor of Phil "Peaches" Kinton. We will begin working on this project this summer. May 7th
Thank You! .

1 Mattresses: We have already replaced 4 cabins with adult friendly (thicker) ones. Thicker mattresses mean that a wider variety of people can experience Holy Ground. Only 2 cabins left. $120 Each x32

2 Climbing Wall/Rappel Tower: This addition to the Conference Center would attact more youth and adults to camp and would be a great tool to teach confidence and improve peoples self-esteem. $30,000 I might be interested in supporting this project
3 New Adult Friendly Building: Over the last 8 years we have increased the amount of people who experience the Conference Center on retreat. In Short we need more space for adults. We have explored this option and we have some preliminary designs that would allow us to house more adults. More space also equals more income to protect our camping ministry. $850,000 approx.   I might be interested in supporting this project
5 Remodeling of Directors Suite bathroom: We have upgraded the two rooms that use this bathroom and need to upgrade the bathroom too. $500 I might be interested in supporting this project
6 Funiture Set: Connected to item 4 this would help to complete the new Chalice Room by creating a sitting area for small groups. $2,500 I might be interested in supporting this project
7 Projector and Control booth: This addition would enhance our ability to host groups needing projection. Most worship groups request a projector. This addition connected with webcams would allow us to host seminary level courses on campus while professor is located at a seminary in another state. $5,000 I might be interested in supporting this project
9 Pay down on loan: Though significantly reduced over the years, any reduction of our debt continues to free up cash flow for daily operations. We are getting so close to eliminating our debt on the Lodge Room Addition of 2000. $184,000 left I might be interested in supporting this project
10 Directors Suite Deck: This deck would sit outside the new door to the new directors suite area.  This would create a wonderful small group area and enhance the outside view of the main lodge.  The price assumes that this project would be adopted by a congregational mission group. $800 I might be interested in supporting this project
11 Pool Solar Heater: Every summer the first weeks of camp experience the pool as nearly too cold to get in. A heater would increase the value and use of our pool. $4,000 I might be interested in supporting this project
13 Bath/Shower House for the picnic Grove Area: As we use this area more it would greatly improve our ability to host a group if they had a Shower/Bath House apart from the Chi Rho Bath House. $4000 I might be interested in supporting this project
14 Kitchen Air Conditioner: Over the years this air conditioner was adapted, change and manipulated to fit into the configeration it is now. It too is inefficient and the blower now only blows across 1/3 of the coils. (Which they tell me is not good) $5,500 I might be interested in supporting this project
15 Mini-Golf Hole: The mini-golf course has been a big hit at camp. Each hole tells a story in the Bible. So its educational and fun. Many holes have already been adopted but there are a few left. $100 -$500
Money has been given for another hole.

16 Firering at the Retreat House: A simple but important addition. Though we have one now we are hoping to upgrade the present practical but deterating firering with something more attractive and inviting. $1,500 I might be interested in supporting this project
17 New Deck on Retreat House: To add to the use of the retreat house we would like to add a second story deck on the kitchen side of the house. It will overlook the forest and will become a great place to for people to gather. $2,500 I might be interested in supporting this project
18 Tile for Lodgeroom bathrooms: We have already done 2 of our rooms but would like to do the other 10. $300 per room I might be interested in supporting this project
21 Additional lighting for dining room: If we double the light panels in the room it will allow us to use the room for groups that need more light. $100 per panel

$600 donated so far

22 GEO Cashing GPS System: This would be used to enhance the camping program. This would help make the small group curriculum more exciting to campers. Its like a big game of treasure hunt except that they use GPS units to find the locations. Its like a new way of doing Orienteering. $2500 I might be interested in supporting this project
23 Broom Ice Hockey Set: This would help create another activity to be used on our new pond. $300 I might be interested in supporting this project
24 Rope Tow in Chi Rho: As we become more active year round a rope tow on the Chi Rho hill would help make this activity more attractive. We often use sledding as an activity that brings our churches together.   I might be interested in supporting this project
25 Upgrade Picnic Area (RV and Electric): We want to add gravel pads and run electric to the picnic shelter. $800-1000 I might be interested in supporting this project
26 Upgrade of Chi Rho Overlook Chapel: We have added a new chapel that overlooks the creak. We want to expand the benches and the platform. $500 I might be interested in supporting this project
27 Gravel or Paving of Roads: Disciples women have dreamed that we might pave the main road and entrance. Now that the county has paved roads to the entrance this dream has a chance of reality. We will pave sections as money is donated. Total cost estimates are approx $10,000 I might be interested in supporting this project
28 Pool Decking: Our pool has held up for 30+ years and still going. However, the decking needs to be re-done. The goodnews is that the decking comes in sections. $500 per section

29 New Blinds: We have lots of windows and the blinds are getting old or are broken $10-$50 each   I might be interested in supporting this project
32 Enclose the Tennis Court: Ya gotta dream. By enclosing the Tennis Court area you would provide another meeting area and increase our ability to be more of a year round facility. $?? I might be interested in supporting this project
33 Chi Rho Country Directors Hermitage: This building would be used for the director of Chi Rho camp but would double as a hermitage for others throughout the rest of the year. Groups have already agreed to build it so we just need supplies. $20,000 I might be interested in supporting this project
34 Solar Panels for cabins: If we can refit our cabins with alternative power we can save money to spend on other ministry programs $12,000 per cabin I might be interested in supporting this project
35 Zero Turn Lawn Mower: Lots of grass to mow and it seems that our used and well worn mowers continue to break down. We have been dreaming for this for a long time... $5000-$10,000 I might be interested in supporting this project
36 Golf Cart: We are always in need of Golf carts for tours, assistance or just basic hauling. We could use 2 or 3 of them and we dont really mind if they are used or new. New: $4000
Used: $500-$1500
I might be interested in supporting this project
37 Chain Saws: This is just basic equipment for the Christian Conference Center. $300 I might be interested in supporting this project
38 Vaccum: We need one of these for each cabin. Though any vaccum will do we have discovered that the Dyson's work better for us and last longer. $85 -$300 I might be interested in supporting this project
39 Patio Outside lower entrance: One of the final touches to make sure that water gets away from our building includes building a retaining wall, brick patio and piping the topside water underneath the patio to the drains run to the lower field behind the Main Lodge.   With the right skills this project could be a great congregational mission project. $2500 I might be interested in supporting this project
44 Remodel of play ground area: Our play area has served us well for nearly 40 years but it could use and modern upgrade. $1000.-3000
This would be a great mission project for a church or two!
