In these ever changing times, changing environment, we find it harder and harder to do the ministry we are called to do and be the congregations that we are called to be. One of the biggest obstacles we find that gets in our way are finances, and one of the biggest draws of our time, talents, and funds are our facilities.

I have worked with congregations and church buildings for over a decade, but have been around buildings and construction for almost four decades before that. I would like to speak with the clergy about their buildings about issues that all have…rising costs with utilities and the biggest rise we have all seen…insurance. I have worked with the insurance industry and have had exhaustive conversations about insurance today, as well as where it is going. There are things to talk about and to make sure that the congregational leadership understands as they look at the coverage. Coverages have changed as the weather and environment has changed. We need to make certain we are covered the way we think we are.

I also would like to start conversations with the churches in the Region to find out what can I do for you. What questions do you have that I might find answers too? What services could Disciple Church Extension Fund have to better serve you. I look forward to meeting the Regional clergy as a group and to share my expertise and to learn more as to what the needs of church in the Midwest are. ~Jim Michel, DCEF

The event is free, but registration is required.
